I read in the news today about a Spring Arbor multiple-vehicle accident that occurred on Monday, October 11th at the intersection of Spring Arbor Road and 19th Street. According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s office, a 92-year-old Michigan Center man was allegedly trying to make a left turn across four lanes of traffic into Polly’s Country Market when his vehicle was allegedly struck by a white SUV and Ford Escape. The Michigan Center man was seriously injured and taken to Allegiance Health. The SUV driver and the Ford Escape driver sought medical help on their own for their injuries. Police are still investigating this accident.

While reading the weekend news, I read a tragic story about a Jackson County Pedestrian Accident last week. According to Blackman Township Public Safety, Michelle Thrun was jogging on North Dettman Road when she was allegedly stuck by a vehicle driven By Karen Grant. While reading the news this morning, I read about a tragic Sandstone Township Automobile Injury Accident. According to Michigan State Police, a 22-year-old man was allegedly riding on the tailgate of a 2008 Chevrolet pick-up truck  on Gardner Road near County Farm Road. The victim, whose identity has not been released, allegedly fell out of the truck and struck his head.

The man was airlifted to the University of Michigan Medical Center with serious injuries to the head. His condition is unknown at this time. State police believe alcohol may have been a factor in the accident and is under investigation to determine if criminal charges should be filed  against the driver and other passengers of the truck.
